I’ve seen the following:

  • Guests write advice/wedding wishes and on cards and drop in a tall vase.  These messages will be organized into a scrapbook after the wedding
  • Guests sign a mat board around a picture of the bride and groom
  • Guests sign a big plate that will be displayed at the bride and groom’s home

We are doing a polaroid guestbook. It will be a traditional book, but with spaces for polaroid pictures.

We will have someone manning the camera, and will have a few sheets of fabric hanging as backgrounds. The cameraman will take a photo of each couple, slide the photo into the slot, and the guests will sign/write wishes/advice, etc. next to their photo.

Note: Polaroid is discontinuing their instant cameras, and will no longer supply film after 2009, so buy up your supplies now and keep your film in the fridge.

I also really like the idea of a faux photobooth and then print 2 copies there one that they get to keep (Favor!) and the other one they glue onto a scrapbook page and write well wishes around it.

If you do decide to do the photo guestbook, make sure you provide props. It will make for much more interesting pictures.  Some great props are a chalk board and a large frame for them to "frame themselves".

I will be doing the photo mat, but my favorite idea is a quilt.  Each guest get a patch they sign and leave there well wishes on them when the wedding is over you sew them together an Batabing bataboom!!!! You have such a wonderful wedding keepsake.  If I could sew that would be the only choice for me.

I am making placemats that have a place for them to write their names, give us advice, and tell a little about themselves. We thought about the picture idea, but we couldn’t figure out a way to make sure everyone got a picture are taken. We’re having between 85-120 guests, and we don’t want there to be mass confusion while we’re off taking pictures. We will have instant polaroids taken, so thanks for the tip….we’re going to get tons of film tomorrow!

I’m doing a digital guestbook, having two people take digital photos of my guests as they walk in, having them write somethign on a postcard type paper, and afte the wedding putting it all together on a digital photo frame, either scanning in thier written wishes or re-typing them, I haven;t decided on that yet.

We got engaged at a baseball game so I think we are going to do a bat that has our names and wedding date engraved on it and then have every one sign it.  I have a sports themed basement so I think it would look really cute there and have special meaning to our engagement.

I took my engagement pics and made a custom photobook. I left spaces in my picture layouts to have room for people to sign the book. It took me a few hours to put it together but it turned out great. i used picaboo.com to make my book since i thought they offered my layout options.

i had a friend who did the same, but her photographer made the book for her. she even included family and friends pics in her book.

We did the same as jcandy, except ours was a "yearbook" style.  We used mpix.com to make the guestbook because you create the book however you want without preplanned layouts.

I’m a writer — so Fiance and I are having a (not so original anymore) typewriter with strips of paper for guests to write on.
