I have been gathering pictures of all the guests we’ve invited and am assembling them in a premade scrapbook (not sure if I’ll do it digitally or not). I plan to assemble them in alphabetical order so people can flip right to their shot and write us a note. I think this is going to be so fun as people wonder what picture we placed in there of them, and on top of it, how we got it:)  BTW – Facebook and Snag It have been incredibly helpful in retrieving shots of people I needed. I thought of this when we decided not to get a photobooth for budgetary reasons.

I read one wedding book where you do a time capsule; guests write down messages for your 1 year 5 year 10 year anniversary you decorate a tin can and have them place it in there so you can read it on your anniversaries

For our guestbook I have been thinking about putting together a photo book from Shutterfly with pictures of us throughout the years. Then people can pick and choose where they would like to sign. This leaves us with many more memories…

We did a guest book alternative that included a combination of madlibs, predict the future, and drawing. It was a front & back card, printed in our color scheme. The guests LOVED them, and we still refer back to them for some laughs 🙂 Check it out, it also works as an engagement guest book/activity – http://www.etsy.com/listing/81989547/alternative-wedding-guest-book

We’re having an alternative guest book as well.  We’re putting it all together in a regular sized scrap book, but all the pages are different. There are the traditional name lines, mad libs, trivia, tiny envelopes to put messages in, advice for the couple section, word search, we’re adding in copies of our save the dates and invitations and letting people comment on them in the spaces provided, as well as we’re going to type up our vows and put them in the book so in case someone couldn’t hear them, they can read them at their leisure sometime that night.

We’re placing the book on its own table and hope guests can mingle and come up when they want and fill in what they want in the style they prefer.  We’re hoping there is a page that everyone will love.

In the end it will be one huge scrap book and we can add in pictures of the night.
