Hi All —- Just curious what some of you are doing about choosing bridesmaids when you have many people to choose from that you’d like to have stand up with you on your big day? For some background info: I have 6 close friends from elementary/high school and I was in each of their weddings. I have 2 sisters and a future sister in law that I want to ask to be in my wedding for sure, and have an additional 5-6 friends that I really feel I want to stand up with me. I have been in 14 weddings in my lifetime thus far!!!!!!! So…. needless to say, YIKES! I feel stuck and I dread hurting anyone’s feelings!
I want to find a creative way to include all of them. I’ve heard about the idea of having ‘honorary bridesmaids’ before but don’t want to make my old, dear friends feel as though they’re second best….. but truly, I really can’t have EVERYONE be a bridesmaid 🙁 What does everyone think about having my 6 old, dear friends sit in a special area at the ceremony, be listed in the program, and given a corsage so that they are recognized….wearing whatever they want (I think I might ask a couple to speak or do something special)? I just definitely want them all to feel included and special, as they are! So, if I did that, then I’d have my 3 sisters and 5-6 current close friends stand with me as bridesmaids wearing the same dress…. Thoughts?
Also, for a winter February wedding, I’ve been thinking of peacock type colors: bright blue, lime green, a hint of orange…. and maybe silver dresses? Or another combo of that depending on what b-maid dresses I find…. Thoughts?
