I’m looking to do something other than a unity candle or drinking from one wine glass. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks! 🙂

I’ve heard of people giving out river rocks to a select few individuals (parents, grandparents, good friends, etc) and both the bride and groom, each member of the wedding party and then everyone else places the rocks in a pretty bowl of sorts. I always thought that was a cute way to symbolize the same principle, but involve others who will be important to your marriage as well. I think they passed out the river rocks before the ceremony, and the bridal party just carried them the aisle with them.
HTH!
We had a sand ceremony in place of a unity candle. We did this because it was outdoors and because we included the kids in it. I thought it went well even though the people who set it up didn’t fill up the small vases to the top like they were supposed to so it only filled the big vase halfway up. oh well….

We have the sand displayed with some other wedding items, i think it made for a nice keepsake.

Hi – we did the sand ceremony too. It was really meaningful for us and our guests had never seen it before. It’s also easy to execute which we all know is a prerequisite at this point!
Good luck!!
angee Im so glad to see this sand ceremony with the kids we’re going to do the same!! I love the colors you picked out for the sand. Where did you get all your items for it? Im looking to get yellow sand for me, blue for him and white for the kids. Thanks! And what did you say before it…did you have an introduction for the sand ceremony?
I want to do the sand ceremony, but I was afraid it was a "beach only" kind of ceremony. I loved those pictures!
