Anyone have any unique ideas for invitations? I’ve always wanted something different than the traditional card. I want it to be something. Like if my theme or colors were peacock, i would want a real peacock feather attached to it. I like message in a bottle but it doesn’t work for my wedding. Any suggestions?

It is pretty traditional, in a catholic church. The reception is at a beautiful air force base right on a marina (we are not military, just using the space). I am from an island so I like tropical but the wedding is not destination so i shouldn’t go overboard. My colors will probably be navy and maybe light yellow. I will need about 150 invites so i can’t choose something to expensive or labor-intensive. Jeez, i guess that limits me quite a bit. Help…

I think we’re going to do something similar to this:
We both love movies and our wedding is casual so I totally think we can get away with it.
Etsy has some amazing ideas for more unique things. Airline tickets, concert tickets, airlmail style, photobooth style, interesting shapes like leaves and flowers, etc
I’ve never really liked the “3D” type because it seems like such a hassle to ship a package to someone as an invite rather than just sending a card, but that’s me.

@katybell247:Not limiting at all. Would you like a nautical theme?

@SoontobeMrsA: yea, compass, anchor, shells, sand dollars, with an antique feel so it’s more classy

I always loved the idea of cloth hanky invites.
