nykkee :  Incorrect!  I have a ring that celebrated the first anniversary of when I met my boyfriend. It is not a promise ring because at that time we hadn’t even considered marriage.  My engagement ring came three years later ๐Ÿ˜

nykkee :  Not to be a word nazi…I think a ring you got before you e-ring would technically be a called a promise ring and an anniversary ring would be another one he gets you after you are married.

Just because the couple are unmarried doesn’t make it a promise ring, and plenty of people recognise dating anniversaries.

SabL22 :   minimgonk :  oh ok, not trying to be a jerk, lol, I just always though the anniversary rings came after marriage and didn’t want her to see herself short on future gifts by useing the wring label ๐Ÿ˜‰

nykkee :  Her ring. She can call it whatever without being “shot in the foot.”

Ukulele4You :  lol wow if you consider what I said shooting someone in the foot you must feel attacked every time someone speaks to you, that’s no way to live. You’ll be happier in general if you don’t choose to read negative connotations into simple comment.

Your ring looks lovely! I have something criss-cross like that, but worn as earrings. I personally wouldn’t wear that as an engagement ring myself, but it looks lovely nonethless! If it works for you then good for you!

nykkee :  Migrain. I misread what you said. Short was shot. My bad. But you should be able to call your ring whatever you want and not be SHORT on gifts in years to come. And I live fine. Best to you wink
