Hi guys! I’ve been a long time lurker, now a first time poster. I have rather unique circumstances regarding my reception dance and I need your lovely opinions. My father passed away when I was 16. So naturally, my close uncle is going to give me away. But, I am very close to my FI’s father so I wanted my father/daughter dance to be with him so he’s included as well. Can I do a slideshow dedicated to my dad while I am dancing with my father in law? Would that be weird? Or should I do it separate? I feel like my father has to be included in some way. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

I think a slide show idea would be nice, but maybe before or after the dance??

@Soon2BeMrsJackson: I think the slide show is also a nice idea, but I feel that people will only be able to focus on, and truly enjoy one thing. So I would schedule the two events to happen at different times. Perhaps the slideshow can happen after your speech (this way if you’re crying you don’t have to keep speaking, or try to compose yourself to start/finish your street)

I think the slide show is a wonderful idea. I think it should be done at a separate time from the Father-In-Law dance. Both of these men obviously have special, but different, meaning to you and each deserve their own moment. I am not sure where the slide show should be incorprated though.

I’d love to see a slideshow DURING the dance, but that’s just me. It’d give the audience a break from attentively staring at you for the four minutes of your dance….and would be a nice homage to your dad!
In the end, do what you think will make you most comfortable.
