I have a wonderful friend making my cake for me. Score! I like everything. I really like unique flavor combinations. Who had a unique cake? For example. Lemon Cake with Black Tea Frosting. How you make that kind of frosting I have no idea. My fantastic baker friend can do anything so there are no limits. Show me your cakes.

That cake looks so good! Our flavors were a bit different. We had three tiers and each tier had two layers of cake with icing in between. The bottom was strawberry and yellow cake with buttercream icing in between (I think. The icing might have been almond), the middle was all almond cake with almond icing, and the top is all strawberry with strawberry icing. DH loves strawberry cake apparently! Our flavors weren’t that outrageous but it’s different than just chocolate or vanilla.

We just picked our baker, who has a bunch of unique flavors. We’re probably going to do a layer of champagne, which tasted a lot like vanilla, but with just that little something special that you can’t quite put your finger on. We also loved the vanilla cake with passion fruit butter cream, so we might do a layer of that as well.

We are thinking of doing something called a “Watergate cake,” which is pistachio flavored. Haven’t decided 100%, but Fiance loves it!

We aren’t doing traditional cake, but instead having several flavors of cheesecake. We haven’t decided on the final flavors yet, but when we did our tasting a few months ago, we tried Apple Cinnamon, Mexican Chocolate, and Triple Berry. They were all FANTASTIC.

I want cookies and cream to be incorporated some how, either the cake, frosting or both! I found a baker nearby that does really unique flavors and some that change seasonly.
Some unique cake flavors include cookie dough, kool-aid, cherry cola, apple. Some unique frosting flavors Key lime, Nutella, Maple, Honey. She is definitely someone I plan to taste and inquire about a cookies and cream option!

The top layer of our cake was green tea cake with milk chocolate-toffee filling and dark chocolate ganache icing.
We had it be the smallest layer because we thought some people might thing it was weird, but it was GONE. I didn’t even get to try it (other than at the tasting). People LOVED it!!

We aren’t close to picking cake yet. If we do get a unique flavor it will probably be one of our smaller layers of cake just because we want to appeal to a wide variety of our guest taste.

We are doing a four tier cake and we decided to do all different flavors:
– Lemon Cake with Lemon Chiffon Mousse frosting
– Bailey’s Irish Creme Cake
– Black Forest Cake with kirsch and cherries
– Pumpkin spice cake with apple compote filling and cinnamon frosting

Guiness Chocolate Cake. Anybody tried this? Looks Interesting. I have no idea how I am going to choose. I think I definitely will need a cake table! If it was up to me we’d just serve cake for dinner;)

We’re planning on having a 4 tier cake with 3 flavors (top two tiers the same since they are smaller). The last one is our “unique flavor”.
– french vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream
– strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream inside, vanilla buttercream outside
– dark chocolate espresso cake with Andes mint filling and vanilla buttercream.

It might not be super unique, but I tasted a raspberry lemonade cake at a bridal show I went to, and it was TO DIE FOR.

I thought my banana with banana cream tier was pretty unique. Maybe because I never would have thought that would tasted good in a million years. It was delish!!

My cake is going to be four tiers. 1st tier is vanilla, 2nd tier is lemon, 3rd tier is keylime, and the top tier is vanilla again.
