@roxy_angell13: Do not come to AZ in July! You will regret it. πŸ˜‰

We are doing San Diego in March, but the weather there is BEAUTIFUL all year long, espcially in July. Lovely historic Gas Lamp district, rock climbing, kayaking along the coast (thank you, Groupon), art/history museums in Balboa Park, and maybe a day at one of the amusment parks or zoos.

Even though we have a tight budget and it’s nothing fancy, I think we’ve found a really great, cost-effective, relaxing and romantic vacation. πŸ™‚

@Sukiapple: I love San Diego (all year round actually). We are hoping to move there so we probably won’t do a honeymoon there, but it is such a great place to vacation. Weather’s beautiful, people are nice, and there is so much to do. πŸ™‚

We are going to Savannah, GA.  We live at the beach, so a tropical getaway wasn’t necessarily a must-have (even though we will probably go on a bigger 1st anniversary trip to Hawaii because I’ve always wanted to go!).  Fiance is a history-dork and I knew he would enjoy a historical town like Savannah or Charleston.  Also, its VERY romantic πŸ˜‰  So, we got some beach, coastal stuff for me and some historical/classic southern stuff for him!

We are going to Savannah! It’s only 4 hours away and I’ve never been there before. Plan to hit up the sites, go on a carriage ride, hang out on the beach at Tybee Island, and relaxxxx

I would recommend southern California, but I’m biased because I live there πŸ˜›

But really, Laguna Beach is absolutely PERFECT for a couple who is artsy and sophisticated and wants a bit of beach too. It is my favorite city, it’s so eclectic and amazing. But again, I might be biased :). Art everywhere, sunny most of the time, delicious restaurants, very romantic and fun to walk around. If you go in July the art festivals will have started, which are totally AWESOME to attend, don’t miss Pageant of the Masters as there is nothing else like it in the world. Don’t think of the MTV show when you think of Laguna Beach, because it’s so much more than a place where rich kids live.

We’re staying at Wild Dunes resort outside of Charleston, SC, in August.  It seems like the perfect blend of city and beach for us!

If you’re an adventure, outdoorsy person, I say Yellowstone!   Geysers, waterfalls, wildlife, hiking, Lake Yellowstone…. what more could an adventure person want?  Not to mention evenings by the fireplace with a glass of wine and a spa tub to rest those weary muscles after all the hiking.  πŸ™‚

Other options:   Napa Valley (AMAZING!) and Lake Placid in upstate NY.

Have you ever thought of New Orleans? This is a great destination that is becoming more popular – it has a lot to offer and a unique honeymoon spot!
