So I decided that I would rather do the unity candle rather than a sand ceremony because I really don’t need a box/vase of sand for me (or my cat) to knock over sitting somewhere in my house.
I also decided that I want to find some way to incorporate/honor mine and FIs fathers in the ceremony. Both have passed away, his from a heart attack, mine from lung cancer.
So my idea is this. I believe traditionally, the two separate candles are already lit. I would like to have them unlit to start. Our moms can each go up and light a candle in memory, then Fiance and I can light our candles from them and proceed to the unity candle.
Thoughts? I can’t figure out how to post a poll from my phone. The options would basically be:
a) this is a lovely idea, you should go with it
b) this is a lovely idea, but maybe go with something different to honor your dads
c) I dislike this idea for _________ reason(s)
d) I like pancakes. (that is, I have no opinion either way, but I have strong opinions about pancakes)
