I cant seem to find a song for the lighting of the unity candle. The other songs in the ceremony consist of Cannon in D, Ode to Joy, Prelude in C- Bach, etc. What song would fit in for the unity candle? What have some of you used or are using?

I’m assuming you want something classical? Handel’s water music is beautiful as is Bach’s Arioso. Vivaldi is also nice.
If not, there’s always The Prayer, or Simple Gifts. If you like religious, Panis Angelicus is pretty. Good luck!

We had Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” played by our violinist. It was beautiful and fitting as our parents lit each of our candles.

I dont know if you want a specific song to go with it but we used ‘Right Here Right Now’ by Sheri Miller for when we signed the wedding registery.
You can hear it towards the bottom of her website. Just flip thru the music played until you find it.

We used Fur Elise for the unity candle. We also used Canon in D and Ode to Joy in the ceremony, and it fit well. It did run just a bit long for the lighting, but I think any 2+ minute song would, so I’d suggest coordinating that with your musician(s).

We are going non-traditional using “your still the one” by Shania. My fiance picked it out.

We’re having Gymnopedie No. 1 – by Satie played as we light the unity candle. Check it out, it’s a nice soothing piece that can be faded out as the pastor speaks about the symbolism in the unity candle ceremony.

We’re using “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison. We both love it especially the version with Bob Dylan (Here’s a video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6_opGKQ-GE&feature=related). We’re going to have his cousin to sing it and play the guitar.
