@Liss13:  when my couples do the unity sand, they choose their wedding colors *but* it’s not ALWAYS what they do. Sometimes I have couples who request personal colors for them since it will be displayed in their home and they’ll have to live with it. An idea you could do is if you choose your wedding colors, you can later print out a photograph from your wedding (on regular printer paper) and find adhesive for glass (if that is what the container is) and adhere it to the glass so that it a memory jar with your sand and the picture. that way it has a reason and a place. just my humble opinion.

good luck!

We used our favorite colors which happened to be our wedding colors as well. (purple and orange) Plus we’re big Ravens and Orioles fans and have a bunch of their stuff in the house so it matches perfectly!

@Liss13:  Some people use 3 to represent the past of their lives as individuals, the third they do together to represent their future.

Our wedding colors are aqua/yellow, but we’re using aqua/white sand.

My son participated and we used black, white, and beige sand. I was going to do my colors originally but, I thought that using nuetral colors would be best that way it would match any room decor. We did a frame.

We are thinking of doing four colors because we are including our parents in this as well. So our parents will have light and dark blue, we are then choosing sand from an important place in our lives. I choose florida because thats where I spent a lot of my childhood in the summers and Fiance is choosing NC sand from a vacation we went on several weeks before we got engaged.

What we did, and this is just a suggestion, was do a floating candle in an etched glass cylindar. We have that to keep and display and don’t have to worry about accidentally spilling sand or what will happen to the patters as we move over the years. We also, like you, didn’t want a dusty candle sitting around somewhere. This way we can put floating candles in if we want, we can use it as a vase, or just display it. I am thinking I might add some pebbles later on just so it isn’t empty.

@Liss13:  Yay Baltimore! :] Purple and teal will look great together! Some people use more than 2 colors of sand to represent their children or their relationship with God or their parents.
