Fiance and I are going to Orlando for a couple days of our honeymoon until we go on a cruise. We are only going to be there for about 3 days in June and we can’t decide if we want to do Disneyworld or Universal Studios. We have both been to the Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld so we would probably want to do Animal Kingdom if we go with Disney. Neither of us have been to Universal Studios so we don’t know much of what they have. Any opinions or input would be greatly appreciated!

r06387: I would scratch both and book a day at discovery cove!!!! (It’s all inclusive all you have to bring is your bathing suit and they only allow so many people in) but if your set on Disney or universal…, I would do universal… It has more rides and a more grown up feel.

I used to live in Florida and had annual passes for universal studios and islands of adventure. I have been to disney world also but have always preferred universal. Since you’ll be there multiple days I would definitely do both parks at universal. (The Harry Potter areas are phenomenal!) Feel free to ask any questions about the parks!

Typically I would vote for Disney but if you’re only planning on Animal Kingdom then I’d say go to Universal. I like Animal Kingdom, but when I’ve been in the past it was always the park that we were “over” by early afternoon. It’s a great park if you have park hoppers, but it’s not one I’d seek out to do by itself.

I would do Disney, but do Epcot instead of Animal Kingdom.

We just got back from our honeymoon at Disney and it was a lot of fun! it was also my first time. It’s very kid/family oriented compared to Universal. Animal Kingdom is awesome but probably not for more than one day. If you do go there, i highly recommend the Wild Africa Trek! You pay extra for it but it is an amazing experience.
You can’t go wrong with either choice, they’re both fun and it just depends on what kind of experience you’re after. Have fun!

Both. You can do Animal Kingdom in the morning and Epcot in the evening,. I’ve done that schedule 3 different times, and it works out very well. Stay at a Disney hotel, I can’t even tell you how much it is worth the price for the convenience, time savings, beauty, etc. It is barely any more expensive than the outside hotels, if you get a lower tier room. Make sure to book your dinner restaurant at Epcott 3 months ahead of time, if you can. I love the German Biergarten, which has open tables until at least 2 months ahead, but La Celier is also very popular (it books up more than 3 months ahead usually).
Then you can have at least a full day in Universal Studios.

Islands of Adventure (Universal) is far, far, FAR better than any Disney park, IMO.

I forgot, when you go to Disney, you can get a pin that says “Just Married” and that will let you get free treats and maybe even skip lines. It’s a lot of fun. You don’t need to stay at a Disney resort to get a pin, just ask for one at the ticket counter. If you are staying at a Disney resort, when you check in, they will ask if you are celebrating something, and that’s when you can get your pin.

Universal hands down! I’m originally from FL and visit either each summer.

Either Epcot or Universal! Harry Potter world is pretty amazing and Epcot is always a great time.
Animal Kingdom is meh.
