You could try making a Google Form, and then whenever someone checks off getting you something, you could manually check it off. You’d have to check it every day but it might satisfy the requirement.

Other than that, you could go with myregistry.com and put in the notes for each item why you like it and that you’re looking for something similar. Good luck!

I added comments in my Amazon registry for each item where I didn’t care if it was that specific model or brand. In a lot of cases though I did specifically pick the highest rated, reasonably priced version of that item – something to think about before you let someone buy you any toaster. After all, you want one that will last and has the features you need. In some cases (e.g. towels) you might want colors that match a color scheme or are neutral so they go with any color scheme (we rent now so when we move we may not have burgundy in the bathroom).
