- Wedding: April 2012
So after our beautiful ceremony (btw I forgot to mention that the weather cleared up beautifully where it was clear and cool but pleasant) we headed inside. First we greeted all of our guests and directed them to the escort cards. I loved havinging a small wedding where I could talk to everyone. Then I bustled up my dress right away (which I sometimes regret because meant that no pictures of the beautiful train but on the other hand no damage was done)
so my train had a three point overbustle but it also had a french bustle for the tulle underskirt
the overbustle was easy but my Darling Husband decided to help with the french bustle
He used his teeth LOL
Next we did some quick portraits – this was not a huge priority for me as I am not fond of them but we got a lovely one with my parents – they had such a wonderful time in LV and at the wedding. I thought my mother looked so pretty in her pink suit!
And I adore this one of my Darling Husband with his Mom – she is just the most wonderful sweet lady ever! By The Way I am so glad we went with nosegays for the mothers instead of corsages – they loved them!
So we also got some fun portraits too . . . Like this one where we are all obviously picking on my son . . .
Both families together and our marriage truly was a blending of the families – everyone liked everyone else! It was so fun to see them all together
And this next one is hilarious to me. When we were little my mom would always kiss our cheeks, but she often wore red lipstick. My sister smacks me on the cheek and I am thinking she has lipstick on lol
So our families went inside and we just started dancing on the balcony where we got married – we were so happy
So then hunger hit (it had been a LONG time since breakfast) and it was time to join our guests . . .
The room was awesome – I could not believe how my catering manager and florist remembered all my 5 million instructions – it was perfect
The food was great – we had 5 different tea sandwiches and 2 kinds of quiches and scones and pastries – we only got to nibble a bit but so good!
So we walked in to our guest eating and having a good time – we asked them to start without us while we did pictures and the open bar was serving so everyone was relaxed and happy.
One of the first things we saw was our flower girl enjoying her gift. She loves AG dolls (and her collection was my daughters that she gave her) and so we got a full bridal regalia outfit for her and she was just loving it.
The photobooth was vastly fun!!! We had props and have hilarious pictures of guests in pimp hats and viking helmets etc – I am so glad we splurged for this!
I had made some fun signs for our guests to use – our wonderful photographer (Chelsea Nicole http://www.chelseanicole.com who has the copyright on all images in this post) snuck the guests off with the signs for some great pictures
Love this first one – my SIL is due in August and this picture of her and my BIL is priceless
Catherine with her best face for seeing dead people LOL
My Darling Husband Aunt and his best golf buddy expressing how they really feel LOL
Even the bartender got into the spirit putting parasols in the champagne glasses. One of the nicest compliments we got was from him about our guests. Everyone enjoyed the drinking in the afternoon but no one was overly indulgent and it made for a fun but not crazy time
So after brief toasts from our Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man and a thank you from us we figured out how to cut the cake – it was surprisingly complex and then we had a tiny frosting fight involving noses (ummm I started it LOL_
Then we did our first dance. If you remember we were not having dancing until Darling Husband changed his mind 4 weeks before the wedding. The lessons helped and we executed a dip even . . .
Fiance was nervous so he ended our first dance before the song was over. So I had him quickly grab his mom to finish out our first dance and it was just perfect. We danced to When I fall in love by Nat King Cole which was both of our Mom’s favorite song
The guests started dancing and were enjoying the photobooth and magnetic poetry kits and socializing so we snuck off for a couple to catch our breath
Then we came back and kept the dancing going – it was so much fun – the swing and crooners was enjoyed by all . . .
Then it was time for our guests to go and enjoy the delights of Vegas – so as I said good bye there were some beautiful pictures but this is one of my favorites – love my Mother-In-Law – i am blessed to have a wonderful Mother and Mother-In-Law
As we were saying final goodbyes Moon River started playing (one of our favorite songs) and we grabbed a final dance
We had plans to go out that night but I needed to change dresses and our fab photographer wanted a few more pictures – it was so much fun to have my new hubby lace me into my dress . . .
The green petticoat was a hit – it was originally supposed to be robins egg blue but I ended up loving the emerald color
He laced me up pretty well – the dress stayed up which was all that mattered LOL
So we played some slots at Mandalay bay
Went outside for some more pictures – why yes you can grab a butt even with ruffles and petticoats
I was getting kind of very hungry though so we headed back to the Four Seasons
Headed down the way cool staircase
Got into our Limo – went to the Wynn and ate chinese food in our wedding finery which was hilarious fun!!!!
Thank you for putting up with my millions of pictures. If you are curious and masochistic there are over 700 more at this link . . . http://www.pictage.com/1099153
It was truly a happy fun relaxed day. The best compliment we received was how much fun the wedding was. We had dreamed of a laid back, intimate, afternoon gathering of our closest friends and family and that is exactly what we had. And married life has been awesome – all the pressure and planning is done and we really are enjoying being newlyweds 🙂
So sending fairy dust your way that you will have a perfect day as well!!!!
