I’m recently enagaged (as of last Saturday – YAAAAAAY!) and the fiancee and I have been going over when to set the big day as our first step on getting the ball rolling. I said I wanted it to be 2 years from now, to allow for saving and planning – which would mean in 2013. My fiancee HIGHLY objected because he does’nt want to get married in a year with an “unlucky” number. So he is thinking next year – which I think is too soon, or in 2014 – which I feel is too far off.
I’m not the superstitious type at all, but he is. Are there any brides planning to get married in 2013? If so, do you run into this kind of superstition? What are some ways you overcame it?
Thanks in advance!

I’m the kind of person who would put as many 1’s and 3’s in that year as possible. like 10-13-2013. That would just be a fun date to me! lol 1013,2013.. tee hee! (and it would be on a Sunday which would make everything cheaper!)

We’re planning on getting married on Oct. 13, 2012…I don’t see a problem with it. A few people have mentioned it, but only asking if it was a friday, lol. I’ve never been superstitious though, it’s just a date.

@MrsDSoon2B: Yeah, I’m not a superstitious type at all. Just a matter of convincing my fiancee that it’s just a number, lol!

I’m not getting married in 2013, but I am getting married on Friday the 13th of May this year!
We are not superstitious and were actually kinda excited to get that day.
I can’t imagine if my FH had any objections that would suck, but I see how your ordeal is a real dilemma because no matter what day you pick it will be in 2013.
