I wore magnetic earrings – studs – and they worked great.

In the past in a friend’s wedding she bought us earrings to wear but they only came in pierced earrings.  I found a “converter” thingy at Claire’s and basically you bend the post of the pierced earring and insert it into the converter, which had a clip or screw back.

@mademoisellesacha:  I was also worried about the whole stretchy lobe thing – the earrings I wore on my wedding day were the heaviest I’d ever imagined… they did do this weird thing where they caught on my veil during the ceremony and I couldn’t figure out how to get it lose or if it was really stuck (since I wasn’t used to wearing earrings) – but other than that slight issue 🙂 I absolutely LOVED wearing the bling.  And, now, DH loves having another option for jewelry buying and I love wearing classic pieces in my ears for a touch of sparkle.  I got mine done at a piercing/tatoo studio and it was a painful process healing (I’m a side sleeper and my ears were NOT happy with me!) but –  now that the painful healing is a distant memory, I’m so happy I got them done… and 4 years later my lobes are fine (no stretchy at all!)

I got my ears pierced when I was young, but they ended up closing up around 5th grade once I started playing sports (I always forgot to put them back in after games). I never had a desire to repierce my ears and find clip-ons to hurt so I went without on my wedding day.

Since my hair was down, my ears were pretty much covered up the whole day (this is the best shot of them I have). Even if I had worn my hair up, I still think I would have made the same decision to go without. I say do whatever you want. You’ll look great no matter what!

My mother never pierced her ears and one of my bridesmaids doesn’t have pierced ears. They both wear clip ons. I recommend the screw in kind so you can control the pressure. There are lots of options. I even DIYed some for my bridesmaid. You don’t need to pierce your ears!

I wouldn’t get my ears pierced for my wedding had they not been pierced already. The way I figure it is that you are probably one of the most “unique” individuals out there in the sense that you have no piercings or tattoos. That’s pretty rare now and I’d be rather proud of it if I were you.

A person can get fabulous clip or screw on earrings, both costume and fine jewelry. Not having pierced ears does NOT preclude your DH from buying you beautiful. shiny earrings in the future. Indeed, because they are slightly harder to find, it would make them that much more special, IMO.

My ears are pierced, but I will be wearing clip ons for the wedding anyway. I am definitely a blingy accessories gal, and I just didn’t find the right thing for pierced ears, even after buying 3 non returnable pairs (which will be worn by the moms and MOH). I settled on these clip ons from etsy. I wanted something that climbed up my ear a little, if that makes sense.

Chicos, surprisingly, also had great clip on options, very blingy.

I do not recommend piercing your ears for the wedding. i had a tough time with healing with mine, and I wouldn’t want you to run into a situation like that, and be stuck. My ears took over a year to heal and nipples never healed fully in 3 years (no longer pierced) and I think I must have a slight metal allergy. Walking down the aisle in starter studs would be a last resort for me, personally. Id wait til after the wedding to pierce.
