marie63:  girlfriend, I’ll be go to your Rehearsal Dinner, breakfast and any other parties she won’t go to. I love to eat😋. oh, and I can start a great dance party.

I honestly dont get why BMs dont step up to the plate sometimes. When I get asked, i know what an honor it is And take it seriously. And SO contrary to what everyone on WB says, I wouldnt have a problem demoting anyone because they inadvertingly expressed they didn’t care, like this friend of yours has. best to you x

claroquesi:  This. I never understand these threads where people seem to want to force things to work out a certain way when they aren’t.

I want people to want to be there and enjoy themselves at an event Im hosting. And as you have already experienced, OP, you just end up feeling guilty when you feel as though you are forcing someone to acquiesce. Takes all the fun out for both sides. I would just let them leave when they wish and enjoy my hubby and family and friends who wish to be there to celebrate.

weddingmaven:  Some people don’t do a cake cutting… Albeit, I get what you’re saying, I just don’t think etiquette is the issue. Is it rude of Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen, yes. Even more rude as family members, but OP can only control her reaction, and fighting one etiquette faux paus with another, seems counterproductive and frustRating. I’d personally let it go.

MrsMaverick13:  I agree with you there. You can’t tell people how to behave.
