My current dilemma… my future Mother-In-Law telling me I can’t wear white, but I would look good in ivory, or even better, peach! (been together forever, 2 children) Politely told her, it was my wedding and if I wanted to have a themed Scooby Doo wedding (I’d be Daphne;) then I’d damn well Doo (ha!) it.
What is some of your unwarranted advice?

My Mother-In-Law swears by NFP, which I think is really useful if only to know what’s going on with your body, but I am not at a place where I can trust it to be my only BC. When she started telling me about it my then Fiance was like “uh…she had an IUD….” 🙂 I know she means well and it is a good method in some ways.
I agree, you should wear whatever you darn well please (including white) and a Scooby Doo wedding sounds awesome!

Some things are worht listening too jsut to keep the peace — like family traditions. The color of your dress? Not something she gets to decide.

I doubt she’d even notice the difference between white and ivory, but it’s still not her call.
I would give an ivory dress (if you haven’t already bought yours) a shot though. It does look better on some skin tones!

Haha. My Mother-In-Law wants us to have a priest, to have a champagne instead of black dress, to do some sand pouring unity thing, and to not get married outdoors. None of said advice will be taken.

Not that she’s right for giving you unsolicited advice, but most people look better in ivory instead of blinding white anyway.
