We originally wanted a fall wedding but we wanted a longer engagment that 9 months but shorter than 22. So we finally picked April but I’m not big on pastels 🙁
Some colors we picked where dark olive, purple (variety of shade possibilities), and bright pink. Fiance said he wanted dark blue or dark olive as one of the colors. I am considering blue but I’m not loving it. I feel like I have already compromised some of my dream wedding. I wanted an outside ceremony in the fall. Since I live in Michiganthe chances of a outdoor wedding in April are next to nothing. Last year it snowed in the beginning weeks of April. Any suggestions.

Those original colors sound like they can work in Spring. They’re very “earthy”. I think the only season they may seem out of place is Winter.

I think dark olive and purple would both work beautifully in April, and you can always theme the wedding to be earthy, woodsy, enchanted forest, or anything in that genre to bring in the sort of autumn mood that you wanted. I think it would look absolutely lovely.

The colors you picked originally can definitely work in the spring. Olive is a nice earth tone, whereas the pink and purple can be a pop of brightness. I feel that’s what spring is about anyway…that first reappearance of that pop of color outside.

I think those colors could definitely work in April. We’re using blue and green for our April wedding. The blue is somewhere between royal and cobalt and the green is a lime/kiwi green.

I love the olive and purple idea.. great thing is that you can do a darker purple.. and still look great with olive. My mother did purple when she got remarried and had all 4 daughters pick their own color of purple and wear it.. It looks fantastic!

I love the idea of purple & olive colors together!
I personally am going with black, white & red accents:)

I’m going to disagree and say that I think olive and purple could be too dark for spring. I think it’d be sweet in winter or fall! My suggestion, based on your colors above, would be to do a dark, rich blue with pink and ivory/grey. Not a dark grey / metallic, though.
