This is how I look at it (as a plus size girl myself), this is MY day to do WHATEVER I want. You absolutely should wear one! There are alot of people on Etsy who make plus size garters. If people dont want to look, then they can look away. But remember, your husband goes under the dress, the dress doesn’t go up so no body will see your legs anyway :p

I was at a wedding once an instead of lifting the dress up, he stuck his head underneath and pulled it down with his teeth…..its was sooooo funny.  Also, Party City sells plus sized garters….$4.99 i think it was.

Personally, I am not doing it. Not because I’m bigger,  but I always get a little uncomfortable when I’m at weddings and they do it. I guess I am just a prude! I just don’t need my dad seeing that kind of thing. haha. But do what you want, it’s your wedding and who cares what anyone else thinks!

You should do it. I had so much dress, no one even saw past my knee. Don’t worry about it…have fun!

He actually pulled it off with his teeth. Which I found funny! But you guys can figure out a happy compromise!

I’m not doing the whole garter toss thing. But I did do an alchemy request on Etsy for a custom garter. I told the girl the size of my thigh, and it worked out perfectly. Only Mr.TKE so it 😉

Oh man, you totally have to do it. NO one will see your leg anyways!!! Only your fiance will go up there. Do it and be confident!!!

You’ll be surrounded by your family and friends, people you love, will they really be like EEEWW on your wedding day? Not so loved ones after all….

Go for it, make it funny and get him to pull out a pair of handcuffs or a rubber chicken first

I am going to to do a garter toss with a twist.  My Fiance will start by looking like he is taking off my garter but then the music changes and he starts doing an suductive dance and lifts up his pant leg and he has the garter on and I take it off him.

Here is where I got the idea from.

Oh my goodness, I could care less what people think (Yes, bigger girl here)!! I will prob put it just above my knee, so Fiance won’t have to go that far up my leg. You should totally do it, I highly doubt anyone will get “grossed out”.

@Miss Short Dress: LMAO! Omg, that will be classic!

I think the garter retrieval and toss generally make most people feel uncomfortable no matter who it is! Just do whatever you feel like; don’t let your size stop you!
