I bought my dress a week ago and it was nothing like what I thought I would like/buy – I thought I’d get a simple silk mermaid shape dress to complement my curves, but the dress I bought is princess (or A-line?) shape, with a tulle skirt, lace jacket (removable) and a crystal and flower sash! I just fell in love with the romantic/vintage feel of it when I tried it on……………BUT, now I’m having second thoughts….
I hope to lose a few pounds and tone up my arms and back before the wedding, but as it is, do you think this dress complements my figure or not? I’m only 5 ft 2 as well, and I wasn’t sure if the big skirt would enhance my shortness and make me look ‘dumpy’?? Is it too much detail? And I’m strangely ‘grieving’ not having had a silk dress, as I always wanted one!
Also, bear in mind that this is the sample dress and mine will be much better fitted to me!

@MissHobbit: Thank you! It’s Tara Keely 2161, and the lace jacket and flower/crystal sash are by the shop where I bought it – Morgan Davies Bridal in London.

I think it’s really pretty! I like the skirt, it’s very different, and the lace back is pretty too.

Your dress is stunning! Sometimes we end up with something totally unexpected! I thought I wanted an a-line with lace and ended up with a satin trumpet style, just the opposite of what happened to you!
It looks stunning on you, don’t fret about it! Work on rockin’ it!
