If I’m not mistaken I think the Maid/matron only matters when they are the Maid/Matron of Honor. I think BMs can be married/unmarried with no title change.

You can do whatever you want. I’m having a maid of honor (unmarried best friend) and matron of honor (married sister). Both are equal in importance. However, if you want your SIL to be a lower designation, then she can still be a bridsemaid. Or you could call her a bridesmatron… I’ve seen that once.

My sister-in-law, who is married, was a bridesmaid at our wedding…I never even thought about it. I don’t see the need to change the name or do anything special, I’ve seen lots of married girls just be normal bridesmaids.
