How long ago did you start your BC? Did you wait a month after starting it before having sex?

If so, then I think the chances are very unlikely…

Have you taken any antibiotics lately? (They can temporarily cause BC to not be effective)

I actually had the same thing a few weeks ago. My periods generally last 4-5 days and instead, I had it 2 days. (First day was the heaviest, and then my 2nd day was barely anything)

It’s probably just stress, but if you’re really concerned, then I’d just go see your doctor about it.

There’s only one way to find out! Take a test and put your mind at ease. I know when I first had sex (and I was 24), my periods started to change and become more unpredictable, so that could be part of it too, plus you say you’ve had lots of stress and other factors lately so that could be part of it too. Chances are, its fine to take a test now just to find out. They usually recommend in the morning. Good luck!

You say you got married on March 28th and were not sexually active until then. It’s only April 12th. There isn’t a way you could be pregnant. There isn’t enough time for pregnancy to happen imo. I’d say it’s stress.

That took years to happen for me, but I have had rare 1-3 month streaks where mine would be light as you are describing. My OBGyn says that even one brown tinged pad is enough to constitute a period, and that means you’re not pregnant. I’ve often had a hard time believing that myself lol.

Also as a side note, stress can also suppress your period, so maybe that does have something to do with it? Unless you missed a pill or were on antibiotics, pregnancy is unlikely.

When I first started having sex, my period was really weird. I think it might be some type of reaction to the stress of losing your virginity? Stress in general makes periods go wonky.

As others have said, the pill usually makes your period lighter over time.

Birth control periods can change since they are not “regular” periods. I was on one pill for a few years with no issues, then all of a sudden I started spotting and cramping which never happened before. My GYN told me this just happens sometimes as our bodies change, and she switched me to another pill. The spotting and cramping then went away. I also learned that it is normal to skip a period while on the pill and not be pregnant (this was after me thinking I could be pregnant a few times.)

FWIW I took birth control for years and my periods were always 5-ish days, 7 without birth control. I’d test anyway because birth control isn’t 100% effective. What’s the harm?
