How unusual are we talking? What’s your plan?

I’ve actually seen this done once and it was pretty fabulous (although I was like, 10 at the time so it might be somewhat romanticised!). My only question is do you have any experience around horses and do you have a specific (preferably very calm) horse in mind? Cos while it could be very cool, it could also go somewhat awry if you’re on the wrong horse. In theory it sounds very nice though!

Also, you’d need a very nice horse blanket to make sure you’re dress stays clean, especially if you have a full skirted dress.

Just make sure it goes to the bathroom before you start!!! 🙂 I rode my first horse ever in Hawaii in September and it stopping to go to the bathroom wasn’t very charming, lol.

I am going to be too nervous to try and do anything creative for a ceremony entrance. Just walking is going to prove to be a difficult enough task for me! 😛

On Four Weddings, an Indian bride was carried in (she was reclining on this seated platform type thing)… haven’t seen anything else other than horse/carriage.

I spoke to my mum about the horse riding bride I remember from my childhood, and she said that the bride was actually lead in on a horse, so she wasn’t really worrying about controlling the horse she was just enjoying the ride. Also, you’ll have to think about what the horse is going to do and where it’s going to be for the duration of the ceremony. Is it just going to be standing around (and possibly pooing during your romantic ceremony?) or will it be lead away by someone who won’t mind missing part of your ceremony like someone who works for your venue or something. Also, do you have a horse in mind? And is your venue cool with it?

@YSQueen:Hi YSQueen! Did you decide if you are going to ride your horse in to the ceremony? Let me tell you, my fiance rode one of our horses in & then I rode my favorite horse of ours, my AQHA palomino, Xena in. I always dreamt of riding up to the wedding on horseback in my wedding dress ever since I was a little girl. I am the daughter of a horse trainer, so I have been around horses all of my life. As I grew & became an adult, I have collected 4 horses of my own and a wonderful ranch near the river. I will attached a photo for you of me on my horse on our wedding day (coming into ceremony).

No way!!! I’m riding my horse into the ceremony too!

I’m actually considering having her fully walk me down the aisle. My dad and I aren’t close so if any person was to do it, it would be my mom. But I’d rather someone neutral do it, so pretty sure, horse it is! She’d then stand with my bridesmaids at the front. 🙂

Oh but I’m also totally worried about her pooping everywhere. She totally would. LOL!
