I love all those photos! Thanks for the picture taking tips, too. Granted, I’ve only tried to photograph my ring with my camera phone but when I finally use a regular camera, I’ll hope to get a non-blurry shot. Anyway, my ring is unique and very us. On either side of the diamond, set into the band, are small squares of blue sea glass – that my fiance and I collected on the beach together. It’s one of our favorite activities, and we have a cool jar with all the different colors and shapes of glass. So, he had the awesome idea to design the ring and it was a total surprise to me. It’s all set in white gold, the size is perfect, and I love what it stands for. 🙂 I’m still thinking of ideas for our wedding bands – something that will complement the creative style and be meaningful for us.

I don’t have a picture of mine, but my engagement ring is a cushion cut diamond with diamond accents on the side.  The wedding band has alternating diamonds and sapphires all the way around. Not so unusual, but I always get comments on the cut of my ring, cushion cut isn’t too popular.  Also, mine is 18k yellow gold, so people notice it.

I have a yellow gold oval cut sapphire with two diamond sidestones..  it’s gorgeous and Fiance picked it out all by himself! Ok, well, I coached him a little beforehand, but I was not involved in the shopping process at all. 🙂

kallisti – yours is too cool!!

haselwand – your grandmother’s ring is what I always envisioned if I could have any ring I wanted.  It’s neat to see it for real!

Fiance and I decided to keep things really simple.  I can be a bit of a klutz and take off jewelry and not always remember just where it is.

My ring is sterling silver with a pink tourmaline stone.  We found it at an art fair last summer, and the quest for it alone was a memorable story.  We’re really happy with it, because it’s got a lot of character for not being what you usually expect with e-rings.

That’s mine.
It’s not super weird but it’s a little bit quirky, like me 😉

Mine is a white sapphire in a white gold "wave"  setting that was designed and made for me by our good friend who is a jeweler.  We live in Hawaii and spend tons of time on the water, and I love the symbolism of the wave – powerful and never ending. I am so cheesy!

My Fiance and I wanted something that was more socially conscious than a diamond.  The sapphire is flawless and has lots of sparkle – it was also more affordable, and I love telling people how he chose it and helped design the ring.   It is really low-profile too, which is perfect for my active life.  Our jeweler friend is also making my wedding band, which will be blue and white sapphires in an organically shaped white gold band.

I wish I could post a pic, because I love showing it off!

I think mine is a bit untraditional for an engagement ring, but everybody says it’s "very me." I LOVE pearls and think they’re classic, so I told the Fiance that I wanted a pearl engagement ring, but still wanted diamonds involved in it somehow. Here’s a link to it on my blog.

I have a sapphire ring, which I love, but we’re having our hammered gold wedding bands made by a local artist.

However, if anyone is looking for sources for unique engagement rings/wedding bands, may I recommend the following two websites:

The Clay Pot: http://www.clay-pot.com/

Erie Basin: http://eriebasin.com/shop.html (esp. check out the jeweler Conroy & Wilcox on this site)

Mine is not unusual, but the band has a knife edge that makes it a little diferent!  Here is a picture but mine has a radiant cut diamond instead of the round
