I am usually a “All Down” girl, but with that dress I think half up would be perfect! A little hair to grace your shoulders, but enough pulled back to show off your pretty neckline!

I think with half up it’d be gorgeous! It gives you that touch of elegance of it being pulled back, but will still give you that nice effect that down gives you.

For some inspiration, I didn’t have mine completely “half up”, just half of it pulled back and then hanging down. Not sure if you have fine hair (I do), but if I lose half of that, I’d have NOTHING left. These pics are from my trial last week, and hopefully they help you a little bit! My dress is also a mermaid with that same neckline.

EDIT: So long as your stylist does it properly, curls will stay ALL NIGHT! I actually slept on mine and they were totally intact when I woke up. If I can toss and turn in my sleep and they’re fine, then they’ll withhold to the Oregon coast wind no problem!

I’m REALLLLLYYYY not a fan of updo’s. It reminds me of junior prom or something (nobody hate on me, it’s just my opinion)…but there are some REALLY NICE half up hairstyles that I’ve seen! (I personally had mine all down…and half of it wasn’t even my real hair, lol, but my dress was completely different…) I’d do a half up with this dress.

I voted for half up and half down. Your dress is gorgeous and I think this option would highlight beautiful curls with a bit pulled back from some drama.

I had a half up and half down hairstyle and it lasted throughout the night.

I’m a big fan of up-dos. Down or half down always seems to end up looking really dishevelled by the end of the night.

They don’t have to look like a bad prom ‘do and they’ll still look fab at the end of the night.

I much prefer updos in general, but especially seeing the line of your neck into your shoulders with the neckline of that dress… I cannot image letting hair get in the way! Plus, an updo is so much more managable.

I HATE half up/half down. I don’t know what… no, wait, I do… it just seems to 90s prom to me, but I do like half back/half down like @PacificMrs:‘s hair. So if you go halfsies, I hope you get it back, but not actually up.

@dominicanbride16: I voted half/half. What is your venue and time of day of ceremony/reception? That might help you to imagine the look you want and decide.

I LOVE your dress! The detail is stunning, love the sparkles. Do you have a full-length shot?

I had a version of the half up/down by having one side put up.  I loved the versatility in the photos.

Looking at your reflection in the mirror, it looks like your hair would just brace the top of the dress in the back if you let your hair down (is it creepy that I actually noticed your hair in the pic? LOL). I feel like your dress is perfect for any kind of hair style. The bodice is detailed enough to look good with an up-do, but your skirt is simple enough to have your hair down – ‘simple’ as in not having any sequins/lace. How do you usually do your hair everyday?

I’m getting an updo for our wedding. My hair is very long, it reaches my lower back, so my hair is going to cover the back of my wedding dress. I feel the most comfortable when my hair is up and away from my face anyway. I’m planning on dancing a lot during the reception so having my hair away from my body and face is going to help keep me cool 🙂
