I am in a seriously foul mood right now….my ring was supposed to be here right now….but fed ex is apparently incompent and lazy or something….holy freaking crap….ive been anxiously awaiting my package all day…babysitting my front door….because i have had horrible experinece with them in the past involving an expensive package being delivered to the wrong house on the wrong street…and then horrific customer service to help me resolve it….well after that we did a test package that was inexpensive that i particurally didnt care about….it was a candle holder or something….and they did just fine….knocked on the door a few times….and there was no big woopsies….cut to today
Now I grew up in kansas-nebraska area, i know how weather shifts and how snow can affect things such as deliveries….and yup you guessed it it snowed today…..now i am a saine reasonable person…and i probably wouldnt be upset if i had gotten the truth instead of the run around all day….so i havent gotten anything done…babysitting my door all day…checking my computer and the weather….and checking updates on my package….whats irritating me, is that we got the ring with priority overnight shipping and we understood that we wouldnt get it on saturday….but we were first estimated noon today….so about 4 o’clock today…i started getting grumpy….
first things first: there is a closer fed-ex facility that i have previously gotten priority over night packages from an hour away….the facility my ring was “out for delivery from” and is currently at now is almost 3 hours away in the next state….i figured maybe the closer one was too busy and thats why….
secondly….idk if i get the a**hole luck of the draw….but when i finally got customer service the lady was sooo flipping rude….it was not even funny….i asked for a more accurate update on my package….and was told to calm down(even though i was very calm at the time)…that it was fine, there WERE NO WEATHER RELATED ISSUES THAT WERE HAPPENING AND THE DRIVER JUST HAD UNTIL 7PM TO DELIVER THE PACKAGE AND IT WOULD BE ONTIME TODAY…. and then i was left to sit idle on chat for 45 MINUTES before i gave up on my other question being awnsered….and then sure as the world….45 minutes after i first was assured there is no issue, i re-fresh my tracking page and wouldnt ya know it….BEFORE MY CONTACT WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE! My package had ALREADY been returned to the fed-ex facility in the next state where it started out from at 1130 this morning….even though it was supposedly in kansas on its was to my house like 5 minutes before….and i had signed up for email updates about my package and i have yet to recieve one other than it initially shipped even though i specifically signed up for delays and exceptions….and confirmed with the company that thats what they had me signed up for….
growl…..i would understand if the customer service had said oh we just checked and their is a delay due to weather….but noooo i get my head bit off by a very rude woman because she checked and had “just confirmed with the ********* fed ex location and their is no delays and the package is in kansas and out for delivery it will just be later than expected” because Im not the only customer fed ex has…. well no sh** sherlock….that doesnt mean u have to be rude….if blue nile didnt ship with this company i would have been esetatic! but they do and now i wont get my ring until probably wednesday….
**** let me again state i CLEARLY UNDERSTAND DELAYS DUE TO WEATHER….I DONT LIKE BEING LIED TO AND BEING TOLD MY PACKAGE IS STILL ON ITS WAY TO ME WITH NO PROBLEMS….WHEN ITS REALLY A FEW HOURS A WAY IN ANOTHER STATE….***

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered a ring for my best friend for Christmas. It was 2-3 day, priority mail, yet it sat in the sorting facility for LITERALLY 10 DAYS. After I made some calls, it moved the next day and I finally got it two days ago.
That was USPS though, not Fed-Ex.

I love UPS. FedEx has gone down the crapper since they partnered with USPS.

I used Purolator over Christmas for an expensive gift for my grandparents, and they had it delivered to a holding centre 45 minutes from my house (despite the fact there’s one about 10 minutes from my front door that held a package for me literally two days before). I didn’t even know the package was in town, until I happened to remember to check the tracking number (which hadn’t been working previously) and discovered it had been sitting in the centre for 10 days and was being shipped back to the sender. I nearly lost my mind. Fortunately it wound up getting resolved, after a lot of phone calls…
But I totally feel ya. I hope you get it ASAP or at least have a better experience customer service wise if there continue to be delays….

Other people are probably just as upset as you are. I understand that the package is important to you, and that you have fears of it being lost or delivered to the wrong house, but a delivery on wednesday isn’t the end of the world.

oh we had a similar anti UPS vent last week. a package from home depot didnt arrive (tools my fi’s business urgently needed to remain in business) and when we called we got a “mmmm we appear to have sent it to illinois. please hold”. with illinois being obviously not the destination that we had planned to send it too – was supposed to be in texas. 5 minutes later we get a “well, unfortunately we seem to have lost the package completely”. and they never found it!
we got a refund on the tools but fi’s business basically closed down for days, and then we lost the window of time that we knew someone who was in the US visiting family who was going to bring the tools back over the border to where we live in mexico. it was a moot point anyway since the tools were now out of stock.there were some curse words flying around!
delivery companies can be frustrating! hang in there, hopefully itll arrive soon

Sorry to hear that. I hate calling customer service or going into the facilities. Most of the workers aren’t very polite and they know shockingly little about their own packages.

They may be closed for the holidays and busy due to high influx of Christmas returns. They resume business on the 2nd.

It is entirely possible customer service had no idea what was going on with your package. Consdiering it isn’t late I don’t know that I’d be flipping my shit this early in the game.

Fed ex is ultimate evil. I literally sat home all day one time and the guy came and went- did not even buzz me! Just slapped the ticket on the door. How could I have known? Was so so pissed. EVIL.

Thanks everyone….like i stated in the original post….im not even that upset about the package comming on wednesday…..im PISSED at the way i was treated…i just dont get the point in lying and being rude to your customers….if you dont know say it….dont lie to me….i just was wanting to make sure that it was at a hold facility or somewhere safe….last time i had my delivery eta dissappear my packaged had went to the wrong house and they hadnt uploaded the delivered status…if the lady would have been nice that would have been one thing….but all i asked was where my delviery eta went and if she could check and see if there were delays….thats all i asked….since we got like 3 inches of snow….there was no need to be rude….esp when my reasoning for even giving to shits was theyd already lost a package before….

Oh, FedEx. I wonder just how many rant threads there are about FedEx on here…I remember starting one a while back. They totally scared the living daylights out of me when I was engaged and living alone by delivering a package at almost 9 pm. The weird thing was, they rang the doorbell AND pounded on the door, and walked off. Meanwhile, I couldn’t see anyone at the door through the peephole and was TERRIFIED. I finally noticed that they put my package under my doormat. Awesome.
