@REchick:  Ha!  My Fiance is insisting we have the DJ play “Keeper of the Stars” sometime in the evening, because they played it at another wedding we went to and we have some awesome photos of us bawling like babies to it.  I don’t think I’ll be able to dissuade him from having that song played!

@Anise:  i would be slipping that dj a $20.00 to not do it ;).

I am a classic rock girl, i think we may end up going with Johnny Reid for a 1st dance. He gets his country music but its not tooo country. I guess the Aerosmith and Muse will have to be later in the night ;).

FH and I felt the same way! We’re dancing to Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”. Some other songs we considered were:

Michael Franti – Say Hey

Tristan Prettyman – All I Want is You

Ingrid Michaelson – The Way I Am

How about These Words by Natasha Bedingfield. I think it’s a good idea because she talks about struggling to write song to explain how she feels about someone. I guess you could liken it to trying to find the perfect song to convey what you feel.

I Want to Love you Madly by Cake is a great song! Funny and upbeat.

I don’t want to wonder
If this is a blunder
I don’t want to worry whether
We’re GOING TO stay together
‘Till we die

I don’t want to jump in
Unless this music’s thumping
All the dishes rattle in the cupboards
When the elephants arrive

I want to love you madly
I want to love you now
I want to love you madly, WAY
I want to love you, love you
Love you madly

What’s your favorite band? And do they have any love songs or romantic wedding-appropriate songs that aren’t too sappy? Go with that. It’ll be totally unique and you won’t get stuck with a first dance song that everyone else uses.
