- Wedding: April 2013
Awhile back, I posted about my step-mom and not wanting to invite her to my bridal shower/wedding. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/should-i-invite-her-long
Well, after much deliberation and speaking with my other sister, I decided to bite the bullet and just invite her since I want my younger sister there and in the wedding. This is what I texted her (because I don’t want to speak to her):
Me: Hey, how are you? You should be getting the invitation to my bridal shower soon and I wanted to let you know the wedding is April 12th. I was just wondering if [little sister] could be in the wedding? If so, she can wear any black, knee-length dress. Just let me know, thanks.
Step-Mom: Hi. Wow, wasn’t expecting that text… Hate to ask but would it be okay if I let you know in January? We’re supposed to be out of town that week, so I have to see if I can change plans…
Personally, I think this is bull shit. Every time I’ve attempted to reach-out to her to take my little sister somewhere (amusement park, movies, mini-golf, etc.), they’ve been “busy” or “out of town.” This is funny because they rarely went out of town before my dad died. And how convenient is it that they’re going out of town the week of my wedding? /: Whatever. I’m done worrying about it because I feel I’ve done all I can.
