All right, just thought I’d give an update on my situation. I took a friend with me to PP and the NP came in to talk to us. I was nervous (I don’t know how not to be!) and the top number of my Bridal Party was high but the bottom was at 82, which is much better.
Anyway, not many answers for me, and the NP didn’t seem to think it was a big deal that I’ve had my period for almost 3.5 weeks already! Needless to say, she didn’t give me many choices. She suggested that I go to my GP and get a physical and see what they thought of my Bridal Party. If we are able to track it and it’s lower, they can either prescribe a low-dose combined pill that they feel comfortable with or they can give written consent to PP to prescibe me a combo pill. Or if worst comes to worst the GP could put me on a Bridal Party med and then a low-dose pill.
I’m hoping that we discover my Bridal Party is high due to stress and white coat syndome. I’d rather not go on a Bridal Party med, but my health is more important than anything.
I asked to switch brands of the mini-pill in hopes that ANYTHING would help this! The NP didn’t seem opitimistic but I don’t care. I’m willing to try anything right now.
I’m done with PP though. The NP didn’t ask very many questions and wasn’t terribly helpful. Also, I found out something today that PISSED me off!! So when I first started birth control, I was on a low-dose that eventually got discontinued. They switched me to what they said was “comparable” but I come to find out it was a regular dose and I didn’t know it!!! Seriously? Maybe this is the cause of my high Bridal Party. I specifically asked not to be on a regular dose, but a low dose. But I’m done going there and I’m moving on!
