I’ve been following too and just wanted to echo and say I’m so sorry this is going on. I think that when your Fiance taks to him if he says exactly what you said he would, then it might get you somewhere.  I think  you just need to be really clear with him and if he says “it looks the same” just say “I’m the customer, I’m not satisfied, and I will continue to fight with you and tell everyone how unsatisfied I am with your work until it is fixed.”  I live in Boston, but Fiance lived in CT and I feel like especially for small businesses, they get a lot of revenue by word of mouth, so hopefully this will make him smarten up.  I’m not sure when in CT you live, but if it’s not too far, really think about coming up to Boston to the diamond district.  They have tons of places and I think they could at least look at the ring and the picture for you and give you some good advice, recommendations.  FI got mine there and loved working with them… Good luck!!

Here’s a good spot to list your ring for sale: http://diamondbistro.com/

I read the Pricescope forums, and this is where a lot of the members do their listings if they are selling something.  The forums at Pricescope have a lot of very knowlegable members, and some people in the trade.  You may want to post your problem there to get good feedback on how to make this guy make good on this.  The only problem is that they don’t allow discussions of simulants (ie CZ) there, but as your setting is palladium with diamonds, you should be able to talk about that.  (you can probably just talk about your center stone in general terms, ie, the halo sticks out too much around the center stone.)  The link is http://www.pricescope.com/forum/rockytalky/  (I think RockyTalky would be the proper place to talk about your setting.)

Good luck, and I’ll be sending good thoughts from southeast CT.  (If you don’t mind pm-ing me, I’d love to know what jeweler this is so I can avoid them. I’ll ponder if there are any independant jewelers that I can think of that might be able to help.)

Hi Sugarbee. I have been following this post and really feel for you. I have the 2620 myself and basically agree with everything jholler has already said. I do have some high res photos at different angles that I will post for you when I get back home tonight. Perhaps you can bring these as well. Show him pics of different angles. I just can’t believe him. It is so obviously different. I really hope he will feel threatened and just give you your money back darnit!!

that jeweler is an ass and very unprofessional. My hubs does custom work all the time.  It is very hard to get what you want from a picture.  You cannot make an exact replica based off of a picture.  However, you clearly wanted it thinner, and that’s what you liked about the Tacori halow – and he should fix that.  And also, that 90% is complete BS. My hubs has made exact replicas of Tacori, Cartier etc – so it’s totally possible.  Your jeweler clearly worked with a bad “artist”  It happens. (eg hubs has 2 “artists” he works with, and he choose one over the other depending on how delicate the work is that he needs done).  Point is, he should fix his work.

(EDIT: i looked at your previous post with pictures – those are NOTHING alike. those halos are completely different! that’s just shoddy work IMO)

@sugarcube: I understand you position and why you are willing to pay that amount. You just want a ring and you want it done correctly, I totally get it. This time, go over the mold with a fine tooth comb basically and absolutely 100% make sure it is what you wanted. Oh man that made me nervous.
