I love that song! Love it! It is my alarm tone. The only thing is the line, all I want in life is a little bit of love to take the pain away. Perhaps a little glum? I know that is a nice line but in with the tune and pace, perhaps not very weddingy?

@EffieTrinket:  Sorry I am laughing so hard right now.  I don’t have any advice but man!

I always like songs that have either terrible lyrics or nonsensical ones.  Like, the Lumineers…what the hell do they mean by “diamonds cut…cut for the carat…plaster of Paris…”  …

Maybe find a song that isn’t about death.  Good luck!

This song is perfect.  It literally has strains of pachelbel’s canon and “I can’t help falling in love with you” in it, so I don’t see how anyone could say it’s not wedding material.  It’s just got more gravitas, which I love.

The lyrics to me suggest that your love for each has helped you grow stronger, and that your love is beautiful.

All I want in life’s a little bit of love
    To take the pain away
    Getting strong today
    A giant step each day
    Wise men say
    Only fools rush in
    Only fools rush in
    But I, I can’t help
    I can’t help falling
    falling in love with you

I will love you till I die
And I will love you all the time
So please put your sweet hand in mine
And float in space and drift in time

All my time until I die,
We’ll float in space just you and I
And I will love you till I die
And I will love you all the time
So please put your sweet hand in mine
We’ll float in space just you and I

    Wise men say
    Only fools rush in
    But I can’t help

    Falling in love with you

I think I would think it was a little weird. Maybe a little like a funky dream sequence wedding, or one that is playing on a TV show where the bride falls suffers a fatal injury on the way to the altar and then the whole thing plays in slow motion, ER, etc.

BUT the lyrics are fitting, after all they are basically wedding vows. If I knew you and could see how it fit your personality, I might not be phased by it at all.

I couldn’t vote – it sounds to me like a bittersweet but beautiful song, but if it was me I’d start crying on the way down the aisle! So if you think you can hold it together, go for it!

And my fiance loves Carl Sagan too and we’re changing our surname after we’re married to represent that we’re all made of star stuff πŸ™‚

It is no way about death! Weirdo lol.

It is lovely. I am just thinking that it maybe slightly somber.

If you like Spiritualized then you should totally listen to Signor Ros πŸ˜€ Especially the Nothing Song!

    @EffieTrinket:  Hiya

Was thinking about this over the weekend. Have you heard Lizzie West, Chariots Rise? It is lovely. Be warned there are two versions. One is a bit strange. You want to type in to youtube – Chariots Rise, Secretary version.
