So for those of you who kidnly offered your advice about what to do with an enagement ring that I stumbled upon that I wasn’t a fan of, I have an update!
He popped the question this past Friday! YAY!!! It was the most romantic proposal ever! He sent me on a scavenger hunt full of letters and surprises. The first stop was my kitchen table. There was a beautiful letter instructing me to take the 4-wheeler that was already running and drive it to the end of our property. After a 5 minute drive I reached the end of our property and there was another note and a gift.
This note stated that I was to go to the other end of our property where I would receive another note. I got there and received my note. It said that he held the key to my heart but in order to get it I needed to make a few more stops on my way. I was instructed to return to the kitchen table.
This time when I got inside the house the original note was moved and in it’s place where a dozen pink and white roses. A beautiful tapestry with our names on it and the date. A card and another letter. The card said how much he loved me and couldn’t wait to start forever with me. The letter said that I am sure you have figured out by now what is going on. When your ready come on out to the shop.
I gathered myself and headed out towards his shop. (Which if you remember from my last post is where I found the ring). I opened the door to find it completly decorated with pictures of us. Streamers and balloons hanging everywhere. Rose petals on the floor making their way to my love standing there in a suit!
I of course started to get emotional and as I walked toward him realized that on the table next to him was a beautiful picture of us in a beautiful frame! He told me how much he loved me, even stumbled on my last name because he was so nervous and asked me to marry him! It was more than I could even dream of.
He did propose with the ring I found however afterwards when he asked if I liked it, I did come clean and tell him that I wasn’t a huge fan of the setting. He simply smiled called the jeweler right there and then and made an appointment for us to come in and look at different settings. He told me that he wants me to have something I am in love with and that if I don’t love this one then he doesn’t either. Although we both agreed it is pretty but it doesn’t hurt to look.
It was a perfect day full of surprises. Even including a surprise engagement party after our dinner reservations that evening. His family and friends (mine are 7 hours away) were all there to celebrate. I couldn’t be happier. Here is the ring he propsed with. It’s actually starting to grow on me. I may end up keeping it anyways. It certainly looks better on my hand then the picture. 🙂
