Diarrhea is usually your bodies way of trying to get rid of something in the body fast.   They both may have gotten into something (like the end of the doorstop) that didn’t agree with their tummies.   Most kitties, like humans, can pass things quickly, usually a few days.   If it doesn’t clear up then the vet may have to go in and remove it so it’s good you are keeping an eye.

Did your vet do bloodwork?  

“Projectile diarrhea” can mores more serious issue.  like he said, just watch for lethargy and make sure they get lots of water because diarrhea causes dehydration.
