Just wanted to send ((hugs)).

It sure sucks being on the endless treadmill of trying to lose weight and succeeding momentarily only to be back in the same position time and time again.

I wish you the strength to be happy as you are AT THIS VERY MOMENT, but also for you to take steps towards being a healthier you- whether this is a thinner you or the same size as current.

Eat well, exercize and be your own best friend when you look in the mirror.

I too know what it is like to be teased constantly growing up, and I get that it destroys a little piece of your soul and esteem every time. I also gained weight at 11 after the loss of my brother. I am in my thirties now, and whilst still overweight, have most body issues under control.

I just think that sometimes we carry these dialogues with us and become our own bullies/ enemies.. and it does not have to be that way.

Your cousin is a b!tch by the way. Ugh.

@SouthernGirl: Lucky Mum and cousin then, but it does not give them the right to be rude to you just because they don’t understand or have not been through the same as you.

Ya can’t choose family though hey.

@SouthernGirl: ’tis.

So you have to be sure to choose your friends and your partner wisely! At least that was the way I played my cards.

Just wanted to say, I too have struggled with self-esteem issues (not due to weight, but in school I had wonky teeth, glasses, VERY big hair and a crazy accent so I kinda attracted bullies!) and I find something that helps me when I start to feel like I hate myself and I look in the mirror and wish I was different is to think about this:

You may hate your body but your body hasn’t done anything to deserve that hate, your body is actually pretty amazing (it walks, talks, thinks, does all sorts of amazing things every day) so it makes much more sense to love it and look after it, because it’s really all we have.

Don’t know whether that helps at all! I guess I just think your body gets enough hateful vibes from others without you hating it too. (hugs)
