Many of you commented to my original post here. Darling Husband and I have been to therapy 4 or 5 times now and OMG what a difference it has made. We are able to communicate so much better. He has finally figured out that I feel loved when he cooks me dinner or brings up the laundry…and he is doing it! Little things like having a glass of water in the bedroom when I came in after getting ready for bed…it’s like he finally gets me. I know that sounds silly but I feel like he really cares now. Our sex life has drastically improved too…like I’m talking 4-5 times a week when it used to be maybe once a week.
Thanks everyone for your support. Our therapy sessions now seem to be more about how to get my dad out of our house. But we have been making sure to take trips on the weekends so we can get away from him. It has really helped. We are back to laughing constantly and I feel like “us” again!
To anyone considering therapy…Do it!

Thanks everyone! I am also happy to report that I hate his video games less. Since he has really been making en effort to spend time with me and help me out around the house, I don’t mind him playing video games. He hasn’t played much recently but usually I would just fume when he played and he is playing now and I don’t even care! hooray!
