Well, I had posted last night about how I was having a hard time deciding on a dress. I didn’t have much to show for pic.s. but thought it’d be between the DB backless/keyhole dress or the satin one….
and after trying on the backless….as much as I secretly wanted to love it and find it was it…alas….(sigh) it was not for me. 🙁
It just didn’t fall well on my wider hips and as much as I loved the back…it didn’t work. 🙁
Though I tried on a few others and while very pretty in their own ways, they just weren’t it.
So, I went back to the dress I thought was going to win, but wanted to be sure….
and I bought it last night! and I’m now dress twins with Miss Cardy!!!! 🙂 While I’m not as slim, as Miss Cardy *you look great in it!!!* I felt that of all the ones I tried on, this dress made me feel the most confident about myself and I loved the material, and even the way it has the fitted bodice – ruching is my friend! 🙂
So, here’s a pic of me in it from last night..;)
Plus, I tried it on w. one of the longline bras at the store and feel it makes the top of the dress show more of the beading and looks better all around (rather than when I tried it on a couple days ago w. my own regular strapless bra.)
I also feel that on me, the dress as it stands still has a bit too much volume on the bottom. Guess I have this sort of idea that my whole life I’ve tried to hide my body and not be confident about myself…but of all days, I want my wedding day to be the day I feel sexy, confident and proud of me, so I’m looking to make the dress a bit more fitted. So I at one point happend to play around w. the dress and pulled the sides in a little more and for a minute had the ‘aha’ moment. While, the pics. are a semi-messy example, as they are only being held by plastic clothespins from the salon – I hope to get it altered to be more fitted and have a nice bustling and cool effect at the back…so I guess a sort of trumpet-ish look?
Anyway, thanks…just wanted to share my happy news. 🙂
I look forward to getting it – should be at least by late Dec. (maybe a little sooner…) YAY! 🙂
