so for those of you following my thread here about my idiot trainer telling me to only eat 950 calories a day, I wanted to update you on the situation. Many of you suggested I walk away from him and I decided I was going to stick it out for our workouts but not listen to anything that came out of his mouth. He started questioning my diet last night and I told him it didn’t matter what I was eating because it wasn’t his meal plan and I was being successful and losing weight (I’ve lost 4.3 lbs in the past 10 days even though I wasn’t trying to lose weight) and he started to trash talk it and wanted to know where I got this plan. I told him my trainer friend gave it to me and he asked what kind of trainer she was and I told him, “and awesome one”. Well that led to more arguing and eventually yelling at each other before I walked out of the room and told him I was done with him and I wasn’t working out with him anymore and I was going to just lose my money. His response was, “good”. Go “f” yourself Jeff. So I am done with him (hooray) and I am so relieved. A bit fired up still from the fight but the good news is Darling Husband supports my decision and understands and he hugged me and asked if I wanted to go get fro yo. He knows me so well. Haha
So thanks for your support ladies!

What a douche.
ETA: Glad your man was supportive. Is he going to keep training with him though? Is there anybody you could report this trainer to?

That is a first class doucher. Please tell me your husband is walking away too.

yikes he really does sound like a dumb a-hole.
Good for you 🙂

Whoa. Glad you got out of that mess.
All trainers are not created equal. I hope you find someone who is in tune with your goals 🙂

Yay! (That you told him where to stick it, not that you had to go through this). It’s great that your Darling Husband is on board too.

Holy cow! Please get your booty to Yelp and every other review website and warn other people about this clown. And then enjoy a fro-yo 🙂

So glad you booted him. Is he associated with any gym or company? He needs to NOT be advising people nutritionally, or even working with people it sounds like!

Is he freelance or does he work for a gym/training company? If it’s the latter, I’d definitely call up his boss.

oh my gosh, that would be so upsetting! i’m sorry he was such an a-hole! good for you for not letting him tear you down and for sticking up for yourself!

WTF I never heard such a crazy thing b4. I would ask for your money back, though.

Ugh this guy is crazy. Glad you’re out!

I would blast him everywhere he works. This guy does not deserve to be in business with the way he treats people

950 calories a day? That’s outrageous. Glad you gave him the boot. He sounds like an ass, but I’m surprised he’s been so unprofessional. Maybe he does this to a lot of people, keeps their money after pissing them off… you should definitely ask for it back!

He works for himself (owns his own training business) so I will be reviewing him on yelp. Darling Husband is going to continue to train with him because he believes what he says about nutrition and such. There is no way I will get my money back. We paid in full for 6 months and signed a 6 month contract to protect him from losing money. I may try to sell my remaining sessions to a friend that was working out with us and paying him session by session. So that may help. We will see.
