JUST HOURS AGO I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM A BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBER WHO PROMISED TO REVIEW THE INFORMATION THAT I SENT. THEY WILL BE PASSING IT ALONG TO THE KILLEEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICE CHIEF, THE EXECUTIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR, AND DIRECTOR OF STUDENTS. THEY ASKED ME TO FOLLOW UP WITH KILLEEN POLICE DEPARTMENT ON THE MATTER SINCE IT HAPPENED OFF SCHOOL GROUNDS.
APPARENTLY ALOT OF EMAILS AND CALLS GOT THEIR ATTENTION. I RESPONDED POLITELY THAT I WOULD LIKE A CALL WHEN THEY WERE BACK IN THE OFFICES. ALSO I COPIED AND PASTED THE KILLEEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS HANDBOOK THAT REMINDS THEM THAT ACCORDING TO SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY THAT THE WALK TO AND FROM SCHOOL IS PART OF THE SCHOOL DAY AND IS THEREFORE SUBJECT TO THE SCHOOL RULES AND DISCIPLINARY ACTION IF ANYTHING OCCURS.
I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING SINCE THAT EMAIL WAS SENT.
THANK YOU BEES AND SO MANY OTHERS WHO CALLED AND CALLED AND SENT EMAILS

I hope you get action soon. I was following your other thread and this must be just breaking your heart. Bless you both. In the mean time, have you tried to get a restraining order on these kids? My best friend had to do that with some kids that were bullying her son to and from school.

Remember that there is a new KISD policy on Bullying: Students that are DOING the bullying can be made to leave the campus. Chances are, they would be moved to the alternative middle school, and their next stop from there would be juvie. Where it sounds like they belong.

My daughter did not go to school yesterday because her neck is still so sore she cant turn it. She is taking tylenol and we alternating between the heating pad and ice packs. However tomorrow we are going to begin teaching her self defense. My FI is military and Im a veteran. We were trained in hand to hand combat.
We will teach her…she would never start a fight, but we do want her to be able to defend herself. We have taught our kids what to do in case a stranger tried to put you in a car and how to defend against that, now its time to teach her how to take care of herself in other ways. I will be posting the pics of the kids doing basic moves on our Action Against Bullies FB page.

Thank goodness they are taking more steps. The police should have taken action ASAP though. It’s angering that they didn’t.

It such a shame that she should miss out on education. This course of action by the school punishes the victim and not the perpetrators. I really hope this works out in the end.
