That’s a shame. I have to say, sometimes I believe things happen for a reason. Maybe this one was a sign? See if she comes back to you, and if not, then don’t worry about it and let the friendship fade away.

I’m sorry. I totally feel for you. I’ve got a ‘friend’ (I use that term very very loosely) that I’ve been considering contacting to express how unhappy I am with the friendship. Since every time we speak its all about her, and her pregnancy. She’s actually admitted on multiple times, that she’s a bad friend, but does nothing to change it. Yet is upset that she’s not a bridesmaid. Ugh… Some people.

PS- sorry to hyjack your thread.

That’s such a bummer! If she tries to contact you and set up a new time, that’s great, if she doesn’t take it as a sign. Some things happen for a reason. I’m sorry she stood you up!

I dunno… I might say that if I were super busy. But based on what you said before… I’m sure it won’t be her doing the rescheduling. Just wait to see if she does, though!

Gah!

A few years back I had a friend who I loved spending time with….WHEN we got to hang out.  She’d always make plan and then cancelled.

I made a conscious effort to stop putting any effort into making plans with her.  Guess what?  We never see each other and I spend a lot less time being disappointed.

I think you should let it drift.  She “overbooked??”  Um, hello, you don’t book things when you’re going to hang out with your FRIEND.  Duh.  I say just let her flake, and make no effort.  In the end you’ll be left disappointed!

I’d say let it drift too, unless she is such a good friend you can’t imagine life without her. I hate feeling like less of a priority to my friends than they are to me, and friends like that are the ones I’ve taken a step back from to stop myself from getting hurt. It’s hard but I prefer to fill my life with lovely reliable people who don’t disappoint me.
