@sheepandbear:  lol..have a beer! What an exhausting time for you. Small weddings are actually a lot of fun…much more relaxed too 🙂

@sheepandbear:  my recap is only pics.  we had only 38 guests (including us).  my son stood up with me and my dh’s sister stood up with him.  we had our ceremony on site followed by a cocktail hour and a wonderful sit down dinner.  we had music afterwards but only the females danced.  it was pretty much a condensed sized version of other weddings.  we didn’t cut the cake or do the bouquet toss.  we enjoyed spending time with everyone and only our close family and friends were there.  perfect.

Our semi DW(on the beach in Florida) was small with less than 30 of us total.  Everyone had a great time.  It was nice to be able to talk with all of our guests there.  We still danced, still cut the cake, bouquet and garter toss, first dance, etc….just on a much smaller scale.  It was just a very laid back atmosphere for us.  I felt like me and my husband could be more of ourselves that night as well cause we were surrounded by those that knew us the best.  No awkward, obligatory conversation with people you barely know.

I know you are stressed now, but as it gets closer you will be so relieved you went this route.  No family drama at your wedding.  We had a Maid/Matron of Honor and best man only so maybe you could still do that as well(if it wouldn’t cause more drama of course).  Good luck and focus on the most important thing in all of this…..you are marrying the love of your life!
