@Usuki: It doesn’t look horrible to me…it looks like a $200 dollar re-creation of an Amsale dress.  Replicators usually work best in Satin fabrics that don’t have details.  A lot of boards on this site will tell you that lace is not the way to go.  I am sorry you didn’t get what you want.  How much are shipping costs?  I would find another dream dress that is easier to make and order that.

I’m SO sorry to hear that you’re having this problem.

I actually emailed him to get a quote when I was researching who I was going to use. I opted not to go with him.

The person that I chose is IeIe Bridal. She’s based in the U.S., but I know that she has ties to dressmakers in China.

I’m not sure how much you budgeted for the dress, but do you have enough to have another Chinese dressmaker make it. I would just try and get the refund from Jeff Liu and use another dressmaker.

Milly Bridal usually has good reviews and there’s a Milly Bridal group on ProjectWedding with girls who have had their dress made by them. Plus they do a “test dress” to make sure the silhouette is what you’re looking for. They’re usually pretty good with lace and chiffon. Some of the Chinese dressmakers are better with certain fabrics than others.

Hope everything works out!

I’m sorry, that really sucks.  You probably have enough time to find the Watters Ceylara used, or at least find something similar.  Again, so sorry, i know how depressing it can be when you don’t like your dress.

wow what a bummer. i am so sorry and totally feel for you. the gown does look very cheap, and i wouldn’t want to wear it in my wedding either.

could you take it to a seamstress and they could add a different sort of fabric for the overlay and fix the seams? maybe re-do the straps in the back?

I’m sorry to hear about what you are going through.  I know how much it sucks to build something up in your mind and think it will be great and the reality is so disappointing it hurts. I hope your WToo is amazing.  I love the gowns from Watters and WToo.

I can totally see a difference in the material! The dress almost looks like the same fabric that see-through ribbons are made of (tulle?). And the way the bust is cut – are you kidding?? Sorry you had such a bad experience – why don’t you ask for a partial refund? Or can you leave a negative review on ebay?

Wow.  I’ve heard such great reviews about this guy, but your dress did turn out awful!  It’s shiny and the bust is really screwed up!! I’m so sorry you have to experience that.  What did you decide to do?
