Live from a totally disturbance free residence which is as preturnaturally calm as a mill pond in the paranormal sense of the word….for those unaware, Mr. 99 and I have a rather ecclectic collection of antique items that run the gamot from everyday to downright macabre…and for most of the summer and all of the fall, our home suffered a disturbance in it’s normally placid atmosphere which made it a downright undpredictable and at times a frightening place to be..
…wondering what could be the culprit…me? Our 112 year old Ouija Board? The old scale from the Standley Hotel? My family’s branding irons from the farm that burned to the ground and took four people with it???? There must have been a hundred likely suspects, but you will NEVER guess what it was.
The one thing I’ve always hated about our house, is it’s lack of a fireplace, I love them, I’ve never lived in a house without one and for the past five years living without one irritated me a lot on cold and snowy days….so, being the dear that he is, Mr.99 got me one….an electric fireplace mantle that actually matches my antique scandanavian teak wood dining set…the only thing I would have to part with, a two piece mirror that made a wagon-wheelesque circle on the wall….actually a gift from an ex-boyfriend’s mother, she gave it to me about a month before I threw her son out of my apartment for being a no good, lying piece of trash…the mirror had already been moved to the house, and when they were there gathering his things from the home, she told me she didn’t want it.
I didn’t think twice about it, put it in a room and forgot about it…fast forward to that summer, and meeting Mr. 99, the original Do Right Man, who helped me hang all of the art and things in my new house, mirror included….if I think about it, THAT wasn’t the best idea, and our marriage has faced some tumultuous times, angry discussions and misunderstanding….and now that the mirror is gone, the paranormal disturbance AND the negativity between Mr. 99 and I, that I had become so accustomed to has completely evaporated and I wonder why I never thought of that before….funny, isn’t it?
