@MrsElopement:  I have not had any good luck dealing with Kays =(  ranging from their jewelry to their horrible customer service. My fingers are crossed that everything works out for you.

Ack! I hate that kind of pressure.

I remember my husband did not get his wedding band (custom made) until the morning of the day we were getting on a plane to go to our wedding! It took them like 2-3 weeks longer than expected to make it – a total of about 6 weeks or so. I have had a few other incidents where I was getting work done or custom work done and it always took at least a week, often two+ weeks longer, than “promised” to get it all done and to me. It does not matter who is doing it either. It can be a custom independent, a larger CAD/CAST place, etc.

I have since learned that anytime I am getting work done on rings, even if sizing, not to have it done too close before a specific deadline I want them back by. Wait until after!

Deep, deep breaths. It will all work out!

And I just saw that you are getting married in three days, how exciting!

What a total bummer! I’m so sorry you’re without your ring, and how nerve racking to be unsure when and where you’ll get it back! Fingers crossed for you!

We got our rings the day before the wedding….they had to send mine back again because they sized it wrong. Then when I went to pick them up the delivery drivers car broke down and it was snowing and they said that they were not going to be able to deliver until the next morning…the wedding day!. So I lost my mind in the store and they got the driver to arrange ,somehow, for it to come that night …so I sat at the store for 5 hours waiting for them but they finally came and I was so happy. It will work out!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I would totally camp out all day at the store you’re supposed to pick it up from. So 1) you can make sure your ring arrives and 2) they’re working on it!!!! and 3) you can take it as soon as it’s done.

I’d calmly, but assertively talking to everyone over at Kay’s and up the corporate ladder in the mean time.

@yellowshoe:  I agree….go and sit at the store like I did….they called that driver every 15 mins and in the end they just wanted me to leave so they did their best to get it there ASAP!
