I took my first exam yesterday (which had nothing to do with jewelry but everyone enrolled at the Pennfoster career program has to take) & passed. I only missed two questions.
Finally today I am on my first study unit. & Can I say wow, its HARD! lol Its not fun stuff like beading, ect like most would think (I knew better.) But I have so much to remember for my upcoming exam its crazy! Like what a Flexiable shaft machine’s three main parts are & what a center punch is & a setting bur… The list goes on & on with all of these parts & tools I have never heard of before. BUT I AM LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone please wish me luck on my first real exam!
I am also waiting on tools from Pennfoster to be mailed to me so I can start my first real project, which will be graded. EEEEKKKKKKK!

So, why don’t you explain the machine to us? It’ll be interesting for us to read, as it helps you to cement the lesson in your mind.
Can’t wait to read more updates!

@sherryberry: I thought so also. lol
@StuporDuck: What a great idea!
A flexiable shaft machine is made of three parts. A Motor with a flexiable shaft, a changeable rotary handpiece, and a footcontrolled rheostat to control speed.
Its used for drilling, grinding & stone setting. Shew, got that part down! 😛

Thank you everyone! I took my second exam today & passed. My grading average is 81 or a B. I am proud of myself but will be going over the study unit again just to make sure I understand the questions I missed on the exam. 🙂 Next exam is not due until the 20th of this month. I will update you all in 2 weeks (hoping with a better grade average!) Thanks again everyone for the support!
@mypinkshoes: No, my first project (tools & materials) was not to be shipped out until I took my exam today. So all I can do is wait but when I do I will post pictures! 🙂 (It will be a pendant for a necklace.)

How’s school going? I was just looking up some local programs in my area and thought of you! Don’t know anyone in real life who want to be jewelers other than myself.
