I bought a dress that I liked, but didn’t love. I felt pressured to buy a dress that day, from that shop (the bridal store was closing, and the prices of the dresses were perfect). It is my 2nd wedding, so I was trying not to make a production about my dress (I need to put the money other places).
There were 2 things I had to have in a dress-arm coverage and the dress be white.
So I choose a dress (that my girlfriend and Fiance absolutely love). I take it to the seamstress to have some minor work done. After talking to the seamstress and expressing that I hate the bottom half of the dress, but love the top… She starts talking about what she can do to change the dress…. The seamstress gets excited about the changes, and I get excited, but with hesitation…
Well, here is the before and after… Of course the dress is not completed yet… We are cutting the train off, and putting elastic into the sleeves so they sit nice on my shoulders… But I am IN LOVE with the after dress 🙂

Beautiful!!! I love it 🙂 So glad it worked out for you.
May I ask how difficult and expensive it was to add the pick ups? That is something I may end up having to do.

Glad it’s worked out for you. I can see why you fell in love with the top of the dress, what gorgeous detail.

@mc77: The before had the pickups and the after doesn’t.
I think you made a great choice altering the bottom. IMO it kind of looked like a comforter before and now it’s much more elegant.=

Ahhh got it, I thought it looked beautiful on her both ways! I actually was kind of thinking that maybe the bottom of the before was set in a strange way or that it was how she was standing but I guess that is just how it is and I can understand wanting to change that. I can’t believe how well the seamstress did! I never thought you could go from having what it had before to an elegant flowing bottom!

My seamstress was AWESOME !!! She totally was in tune to my hating the pickups in this dress… Honestly, it felt like the top & bottom of the dress didnt belong together… She was sooo positive about pulling the pick ups out and could see the vision I could not…
