Praying for you – and lit a “candle”

I didn’t follow your whole story (I must have been living under a rock to miss it, I’m sorry!), but I wanted to share with you:

On Oct 1 (of this year), my DH’s cousin (who is only 19) was in a serious car accident.  He also had a serious brain injury.  The impact crushed his skull, and parts of his skull were lodged into his brain.  Things did not look good at all.

He was in a coma for over a month, before he began to wake up.

As of today, he’s had 2 brain surgeries.  He’s now breathing on his own and starting to talk a little.  He’s walking a little.  He’s had his trach tube removed in the past couple of days and can eat mashed food a little.  The doctors are literally shocked.

I know every situation is different, but I truly believe in the power of prayer (and I’m not even that religious).  I’ve seen it happen for DH’s cousin, and I hope and pray for the same for your husband.

hugs and prayers!

Lots and lots of prayers your way. Miracles do happen. A very good friend of mine’s husband (although this was before they were married) was in a car accident and stayed in a coma for 3 months. His family was told it was time to let go, they refused to “pull the plug” and here he is 5 years later and doing so great! No long term impacts, just has a hard time remembering things from when he was a kid (his memory is patchy from events occuring before the accident) and a deformed toe!
