I am going to keep praying. I really believe in the power of prayer, and that miracles can happen. And you have so many people sending prayers up for you, I hope he will recover.

Hi Macintoch (Kim) –

thank you for your update. I am glad to hear that Justin is stable.  I had to work last night and I was wondering if he was at the hospital I work at (he is not).

I commented on your other thread that, like others have said, miracles happen every day.  I have seen it myself.  It’s absolutely amazing what modern medicine and the human spirit can do.

This is going to be a very long road, with ups and downs.  Some days he will take a step forward, and other days he will take two steps back.

My kids say their prayers every night and I will have them pray for your family.

Please take care of yourself as well.  Take it one day at a time.

If you’re confused about all the medical terminology the doctors use, please PM me.

I just wanted to send my prayers and to tell you to not give up.  My mom suffered a serious brain injury earlier this year with significant damage to all parts of her brain.  She was on a ventilator with tubes down her throat for a couple of weeks before we had to make the choice of a tracheostomy and feeding tube or to let her go.  We were seeing subtle signs she was still there so we decided to give her more time.  She eventually woke up and still has her personality and all of her memory except for about 3 months when she was in a coma.  She still struggles physically but is working to come back from that.  She is still in a nursing facility getting therapy but we are seeing slow but constant improvement.  We have hope she will one day be independent again.

She has blown away the doctors.  Thankfully the doctors didn’t push us one way or the other and even admitted they don’t know everything and miracles do happen.  She truly is a miracle.  I wish the same for your husband!  The brain really is amazing.  Even if certain parts are damaged somehow other parts of the brain seem able to adapt and take over.

You are an amazing woman ! We are all there with you ! Sending Justin, yourself and everyone involved prayers everytime I think about you (which is often!!) May you be strong, may Justin be stubborn (as you said he is), may the doctors be smart and may God’s miracle be seen !
