I posted a while back about a dilemma I was having a while back about a homeless man that occasionally came into my work. You can see my post here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/what-would-you-do-about-this-homeless-man
Anyways, I just wanted to say that last night it finally seems as though one of the two coworkers who was against him coming into our store has changed his mind. He said the man, let’s call him Stevie, has been growing on him and my coworker was even offering him some things he had that he wanted to get rid of.
I had my first conversation with Stevie and he was very pleasant and nice. For some reason I strongly feel that he is just a very creative and internal man trapped in the body of someone who has no home. He seems to be very intelligent and an interesting person to talk to, and it makes me happy to know that he hasn’t seemed to have lost all of his sanity. I was told once that he does have money, that he just refuses to spend it, and simply lives out of his car.
In the meantime I’ll just keep him in my thoughts, and hope that we can convince the other coworker who isn’t so fond of him that there is nothing to worry about. Thank all of you bees for your support and kinds words so far. It means a lot.
P.S. I didn’t call the police on him or ask him about any shelters, he seems have a little different something on whenever he comes in (hat, shirt, etc) so I think he must go dumpster diving? His car is pretty much overflowing with stuff so I think when he lost his home he filled his car. This makes me feel a little bit better about things. Though he told me yesterday he gets cold easily and it’s been freezing here as of late.
